This paper presents the performance characteristics of a newly developed polyolefin fiber reinforced concrete. These polyolefin fibers were used for the first time in South Dakota for the construction of a full-depth pavement and white topping on scarified asphalt pavement. The mixture proportions used, the procedure used for mixing, transporting, placing, consolidation, finishing, timing, and curing of the concretes are described. The feasibility of using this high performance polyolefin fiber reinforced concretes in the construction of highway structures has been established and presented in this paper. These polyolefin fibers performed well in the mixing operation without causing any balling or segregation. This new polyolefin fiber reinforced concrete with enhanced fatigue, impact resistance, modulus of rupture, ductility and toughness properties is particularly suitable for the construction of pavements and white-topping.
